Just for Tom
Hello World.
I received this one in an email (from my mother, if you were wondering), and I find it hilarious.

Web Service Spotlight - Google Page Creator
Hello World.
Each Wednesday, I will be featuring a different “Web 2.0” website and providing a sort of mini-review. These may include new services that are better than their competitors, sites that are unique and do things differently, or simply sites that stand out as being useful.

Yes, I know. It’s Friday. I can explain.
Wednesday became a write-off for me as I had to spend almost the entire day at Uni orientation. It was interesting and informative and everything else it was supposed to be, only it took all day. Add to that the four hours or so of travelling I had to do that day, and you can see that I had no time for writing lengthy articles.
…and then his brain exploded.
Hello World.
This is simply amazing. There are no words to describe this other than things like, mind-melting, eye-popping or fit-inducing.
Try to follow a single blue ball all the way around. It’s nigh on impossible.

Welcome, readers, to the first Web Service Spotlight. This will be a regular feature every Wednesday covering websites and services that are useful, different or remarkable out there on the interweb. This is kind of an extension of the Geekin’ It Up idea I began a while back. Only instead of one long article coving many issues, and appearing occasionally (or once, as the case was) I will have a number of regular, shorter features covering individual issues. I will be starting with this one - Web Service Spotlight - though there may very well be others in the coming weeks.
Just because it’s Uber.
Hello World.
Everyone loves Breakout. It’s that classic game with the bricks that must be destroyed with the ball. If you don’t know what I’m on about, here is an example. In fact, Breakout is such a good game that it could be a feature all on it’s own.
But Breakout pales in comparison to UBER BREAKOUT! What’s the difference, you ask? Well for starters, Uber Breakout is quite obviously Uber. ‘Nuff said.
Me and my fickle mind.
Hello World.
The more astute of you will have noticed that I changed my site theme… again! The difference this time is that I actually really like this theme and plan to stick with it for a while.
It makes use of the full width of the page, and separates the sidebar column into two distinct sections - left is site navigation, right is external links. You’ll also notice the horizontal bar along the top is where you go to see the other pages within the site.
This is a fairly big move away from previous incarnations of The Cabbage Patch, but I hope you’ll agree that it is for the best.
NB. For those who care about such things, the theme is called WP-Andreas09.
Like, oh my god! That’s so, like, random!
Hello World.
A while ago, on my old blog, there was a button along the top that could be used to jump to a random Blogger blog. This was a good way to simply explore the “blogosphere” (god I hate that word) without having to search or know a particular site.
Well it just so happens that Wordpress.com have recently added a similar function. There are a few differences, such as that it will only explore Wordpress.com blogs, not Blogger blogs, and that you will only see the button on the top of the page if you are logged in as a Wordpress member.
Well, I can’t get around the first one, but I can get around the second one. Simply Click Here to be taken to a random blog. You could also, if you so desired, bookmark that link and use it whenever you want, from whatever site you happen to be at. Or you could click the “Next Blog »” link in the sidebar.
Enjoy your travels, just make sure you return.
“Hey ho! Pretty pretty bang bang, pretty pretty bang bang, we love you!”
Hello World.
What would the world be like if terrorists were actually animated dots? Something like this, I would guess.
Very strange, but generally quite fun game.
Escape to Windows
Hello World.
Mouse 1.0 - Escape to Windows is an incredibly simple maze game, but it’s very fun nonetheless.
Why is there always so much football between the ads?
Hello World.
As any American readers will know, Super Bowl XL was on yesterday (or today - I can never get the hang of timezone differences). Approximately 90 million people watch it every year. Many of them, however, only watch for the ads.
Super Bowl ads are famous. They are usually ridiculously expensive, and often only ever played once. Lucky for us, they have all been put up on the Internet.
