Smells Like Orchestral Spirit

Hello World.

This is a cool video of a high-school orchestra playing Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit.  It’s actually quite a nice song once you remove Kurt Cobain from the equation.

@ where?

Hello World.

Would you like a limited-edition, ultra-cool new email address? How about 2GB of free email and file storage?

Well, as of today 24 lucky people have the chance to have a free @patchofcabbages.com email address with 2GB of storage, using the fantastic Gmail interface.

Thanks to Google’s new domain tools, I can now offer anything@patchofcabbages.com for the first 24 people to email their full name and the address they want to either admin@patchofcabbages.com or david@patchofcabbages.com. Just include the subject line “Gimme one o’ them fancy emails, bubba” (it has to be exactly this, because I will be using an auto-filter).

Thanks to the fantasticness of Gmail, you can direct all of your email into or out of the @patchofcabbages.com address, so you can use it simultaneously with your current address and receive all your email in the same inbox.

By setting up an @patchofcabbages.com email address, you will also receive a free Google Calendar account and Google Chat account accessible from your email login.

If you choose to create one of these amazing new addresses, you can login by going to http://mail.google.com/a/patchofcabbages.com/. Hopefully, however, by the time you read this you will also be able to access your email from patchofcabbages.com/mail/.

It’s still better than Pokemon

Hello World.

Humorous Phases of Funny Faces is widely considered to be the world’s first animated film.  It was created by pointing a film camera at a blackboard.  Here it is:

Cabbage Patch Apparel… fo’ real?

Hello World.

Earlier this week I made a joke post about Cabbage Patch branded clothing.  Well, after a suggestion (and a very useful link) from reader TomHB, I have made up some products for real.

Follow the new “store” link from the home page (or from the tab at the top of this page) to access the new Cabbage Patch Store!

Read on for product details.

TheCabbagePatch2.0Beta

Hello World.

“Web 2.0″ sites, while predominately cool, mostly look the same.  They all have the same logos with the same shiny “wet floor” look to them.  In that vein, I present the new Cabbage Patch 2.0 faux logo.

This logo created with the Web2.0 Logo Creator.

…and then his brain exploded.

Hello World.

This is simply amazing.  There are no words to describe this other than things like, mind-melting, eye-popping or fit-inducing.

Try to follow a single blue ball all the way around. It’s nigh on impossible.

Like, oh my god! That’s so, like, random!

Hello World.

A while ago, on my old blog, there was a button along the top that could be used to jump to a random Blogger blog.  This was a good way to simply explore the “blogosphere” (god I hate that word) without having to search or know a particular site.

Well it just so happens that Wordpress.com have recently added a similar function.  There are a few differences, such as that it will only explore Wordpress.com blogs, not Blogger blogs, and that you will only see the button on the top of the page if you are logged in as a Wordpress member.

Well, I can’t get around the first one, but I can get around the second one.  Simply Click Here to be taken to a random blog.  You could also, if you so desired, bookmark that link and use it whenever you want, from whatever site you happen to be at.  Or you could click the “Next Blog »” link in the sidebar.

Enjoy your travels, just make sure you return.

“The best thing about New York? The smell of urine in the morning.”

Hello World.

Ever wanted to visit New York City? Well now you can. Through your computer. Sort of.

Virtual NYC Tour is just what it claims, a virtual tour of New York City. Using a system of panoramic-style photos and an interactive map you can explore many of the different areas of New York as if you were there.

Only without the smell of urine.
