Still better than a matchbox

Hello World.

A while back, I posted some Photoshopped images I had created of celebrities as they would look if they had red hair.  Originally, I had done this as part of a forum thread over at ComicVine.  Recently, I was notified that someone liked my pictures and re-posted one at his own site.  This has inspired me to make some more (also, I’m a little bored).

Sometime in the near future, I’m going to write up and post a tutorial of how I do this (it’s really not terribly hard).  Meanwhile (Right click>”View Image” or similar to see full size):

Another Eliza Dushku manipulation (because I like her):

The Invisible Woman herself, Jessica Alba:

And lastly, the super-babe from Smallville, Kristin Kreuk:

That’s all for now.  I was trying to do a decent one of Heroes’ Hayden Panettiere (”just about the hottest woman on TV at the moment“, according to TomHB), but that particular shade of light blonde doesn’t red-ify well.  Also, I will take requests, should such a service be deemed useful (for example, for seeing what you would look like before you go and get that expensive and non-washable colouring at the salon).

@ where?

Hello World.

Would you like a limited-edition, ultra-cool new email address? How about 2GB of free email and file storage?

Well, as of today 24 lucky people have the chance to have a free @patchofcabbages.com email address with 2GB of storage, using the fantastic Gmail interface.

Thanks to Google’s new domain tools, I can now offer anything@patchofcabbages.com for the first 24 people to email their full name and the address they want to either admin@patchofcabbages.com or david@patchofcabbages.com. Just include the subject line “Gimme one o’ them fancy emails, bubba” (it has to be exactly this, because I will be using an auto-filter).

Thanks to the fantasticness of Gmail, you can direct all of your email into or out of the @patchofcabbages.com address, so you can use it simultaneously with your current address and receive all your email in the same inbox.

By setting up an @patchofcabbages.com email address, you will also receive a free Google Calendar account and Google Chat account accessible from your email login.

If you choose to create one of these amazing new addresses, you can login by going to http://mail.google.com/a/patchofcabbages.com/. Hopefully, however, by the time you read this you will also be able to access your email from patchofcabbages.com/mail/.

There’s no accounting for taste

Hello World.

In the past I have directed you to my Last.fm profile, my Flickr photos, and various other pages of mine around the web.  I don’t think, however, I have ever pointed you to deviantART.  I plan to do a write up about this amazing website soon, so I won’t go into it here.

I would like to briefly discuss, however, a bizarre thing which has just happened to me on this website.

Cabbage Patch Apparel… fo’ real?

Hello World.

Earlier this week I made a joke post about Cabbage Patch branded clothing.  Well, after a suggestion (and a very useful link) from reader TomHB, I have made up some products for real.

Follow the new “store” link from the home page (or from the tab at the top of this page) to access the new Cabbage Patch Store!

Read on for product details.

Be Sociable

Hello World.

I have added a little feature to the blog, and if you look closely you will notice some small icons at the end of each post.  Each of these icons represents a different bookmarking or link-sharing site, and clicking one of them will prepare a submission form for that site to submit the relevant post.

If you happen to be a member of one of these sites and you feel something I post is worthy of submitting please click on the icon and share The Cabbage Patch Love™.

At the moment, I have only included del.icio.us, Newsvine and digg (in that order), but if you would like me to add a button to a particular site leave a comment and I’ll try to get it in there.

This service is provided by the Sociable wordpress plugin.

If friends just aren’t your thing.

Hello World.

This would have to be one of the most bizarre pages I have ever found. You've seen the virtual stapler and virtual bubble wrap, now it's time for Virtual High Five!

Why, oh why, oh why…?
